IL: Wayside Cross child sex offender residents receive new notices citing proximity to Aurora park

[chicagotribune.com – 12/13/19]

For the second time this year, child sex offenders who live at Wayside Cross Ministries in Aurora were given letters stating they must find a new place to live within 30 days.

An Aurora police officer delivered letters to 19 residents who were scheduled to receive them around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, police spokesman Paris Lewbel said. The letters said the men reside within 500 feet of McCarty Park and therefore by law must move.

The residents received similar notices in June but were allowed to remain at Wayside pending the result of a federal civil lawsuit filed against the city of Aurora. After the lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed in late October, it was unclear whether the residents would be required to relocate until the new notification letters arrived Friday.

Wayside has operated for nine decades at its current downtown location and runs a variety of Christian-based rehabilitation programs, including those that help former inmates re-enter society after leaving prison. Wayside houses 90 residents and 19 are registered child sex offenders.

Well if you can’t live with in 500 feet of a park or school or a daycare. Why not pass a law that you can’t drive by one too. Or is that to much to handle for the cops? This kind of making people move is bull s##$. To me! Making someone move is more harm too society cause you don’t know where the person will end up! Cause that person might end up in your back yard. But right now you know that person is in caring hands be in watched over by the people who run the place. But than you got people who bi@ch and want the person gone. So they can let little Johnny go play without having too watch him. See where this is going? The Adam Walsh s##t.. The mother who did not watch her kid and LET him get murder!!! Than her useless husband run too the government and demands laws. Cause they did not WATCH THEIR KID! So you our all too blame for this happening and don’t think you not! The law said yes you are! But really the one who should be on the hook is the parents! Why? Cause you the protection for the children if you fail you can only blame yourself! But walsh cant do that! He had too run with the pain of his child be in gone. So his wife did not get blamed for neglect and go to court. So the best way too make money off the dead kid was too make fake ads telling people we have saved over 300 kids. This f##KER COULD NOT EVEN SAVE HIS OWN SON! WOW!!! But you all too blame for it!!!!

This states that they are under no obligation to register people within 500 feet of a park. Obviously they registered not one, but 19 people at this facility and then later decided they couldn’t live there. Who screwed up and registered them there if it wasn’t ok for them to be there? Another instance of changing the rules as we go!
